5 Classic Phil Hellmuth Blow Ups

"I am the Jack Nicklaus of poker, the Tiger Woods of poker, the Mozart of poker."

"If there weren't luck involved, I would win every time."

Phil Hellmuth is one of the most recognizable and polarizing figures in the world of poker. He is famous for brilliant tournament play, but mostly famous for his reactions when he loses. Known as the "Poker Brat" for his attitude, he truly brings a uniquely entertaining aspect to poker on television. He holds the record for most WSOP bracelets won with 11 after breaking Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan's record in 2007. If he were a calm and collected guy we would simply look at him as one of the best poker players ever, but it's just not simple. Below you will find 5 of his classic blow ups in video form.

5. This is as mild mannered as is gets as far as Hellmuth blow ups are concerned as he makes a bad call against Sam Farha.

Poker Tip of the Day: Phil Gordon

Phil Gordon breaks down the most common percentages every serious poker player should know.

ESPN Tells the Story of Matt Affleck

ESPN has a great story up on 23-year-old Matt Affleck who was eliminated in 15th place in the 2010 WSOP. The story was before he lost on day 8, but still worth the read.
"Last year, my biggest problem and my ultimate downfall was that I'd lose a pot and my mindset would be 'I have to get those back,'" said the Seattle native. "I got into a big pot with Q-Q vs. K-Q. Someone said they'd folded a king when we turned the cards up and then I got two-outed on the river. I was stressing out, because I'd been the chip leader and was like, 'I need to get back the chip lead' and didn't play my game after that."..."Like everyone else in high school, I started watching on TV," he said. "We'd do $5 tournaments, then upped it to $10 and then to $20 and everyone was like, 'You guys are crazy, playing that high!' I just played casually through high school, and then at college I wanted to enjoy myself, so I quit my job as a cashier. I started playing online, but I finished school last month. I've been playing pretty seriously for the last year and a half, planning on not getting a post-school job during that time. I still made sure I graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in finance."
Head over to ESPN for more on Matt Affleck.
